![]() | The Crest Ablaze Copper Harbor, Michigan, USA July 2005 As the sun set over Lake Superior, bringing to a close one of the longest, windiest day in recent memory, I headed for the beach hoping to catch a colorful sunset. However, when I arrived, I was dismayed to find a large cloud bank had rolled in, just barely obscuring the horizon, but enough to lay rest to any plans I had.
However, in the final seconds before the sun disappeared behind the cloud bank, I spotted the tiniest rock protrusion to the side of me. I switched to a long zoom lens, got myself right down to ground level, and shot this colorful photograph just in time. I recomposed and took another shot a mere 30 seconds later, but the beautiful color was all but gone. |
